Ag-Venture in Hillsborough County
Ag-Venture provides a field-trip opportunity for 3rd graders to experience, understand, and appreciate Agriculture in their own community.
Hillsborough County ranks 3rd in the state for the dollar value of agriculture products, yet the majority of youth in this county live in non-agriculture communities and have little or no awareness or understanding of the importance of agriculture.
Each year, AgVenture provides an opportunity for more than 5,500 3rd grade students in Hillsborough County to participate in the Ag-Venture Field Trip. Ag-Venture is a cooperative program between the Hillsborough County Cooperative Extension Service 4-H Department, The Hillsborough County Farm Bureau, the Florida State Fair Authority, and Agriculture Commodity Groups in Hillsborough County.
